Automation should be viewed, on the one hand, as a transition to a new business state that guarantees previously unrealistic financial results, and on the other hand, as a convenient and economical format of work. With automation, the optics receives easily accessible information about each patient, past visits, the prescribed course of treatment, and prescriptions of glasses. These data are now stored in an electronic medical record, available to the doctor to whom the client made an appointment and make it possible to get acquainted with the patient's condition in advance, which reduces the time of appointment since there is a substantive discussion and examination of the patient. At the same time, the doctor also enters observations and remarks in an electronic document, where individual fields will already be filled with the necessary information downloaded from the electronic medical record, and which is saved as its continuation.
It should be said that all electronic forms in the optics prepared by the automation program, which has a unified format - the same principle of data distribution over the structure of the document and a single algorithm for their input, which allows the medical staff not to ‘bother’ when working in different forms and easily move from filling out one to another, while the forms and information in them are interrelated, if we are talking about the same client or disease, so they are partially ready to fill with content. This saves the time of both the specialist and the patient of the optics, increasing the level of service.
Optics automation optimizes the work with the product - with its assortment, accounting, replenishment. From now on, sales are made through a special form - a sales window, where the patient and purchase are registered, its cost and discount, if any, as well as the employee who issued the sale. As soon as the purchase is paid for, automation immediately registers the receipt of money to the appropriate account, note this fact in the client's personal file, write down the commission from the sale to the manager's account, and write off the sold goods from the warehouse of the optics.

Since we are talking about the automation of optics, which still works not only as a store but also fulfils orders, then we should also describe in more detail about this form of activity under the control of an automated system. A special database was compiled in the automation program, containing all applications for the manufacture of glasses received from customers, while the selection of frames, measurement of vision, and prepayment were made. The automated system conducts all calculations independently according to the official calculation methods embedded in the regulatory and reference base, which helps the enterprise to normalize the activities of personnel and evaluate each operation it performs by setting up the calculation that is performed when the automation program is first launched into operation.
Among the automatic calculations, not only the calculation of the cost of the order, considering the price of frames, lenses, and laboratory work, but also the calculation of its cost, according to the price list, which is used for a given client since everyone can have personal price lists, which is defined in the contract of the provision of services and provided as a reward for the highest activity among the rest. Such calculations include the automatic accrual of monthly piece-rate remuneration to users, considering the amount of work that was not only completed but also recorded in their work logs posted in the automation system of the optics. True, there is one condition here - if the task is ready, but not marked in the journal, it means that it is not subject to payment, this immediately increases the activity of the staff in filling out electronic forms, providing the automation system with such necessary primary data.

Such equipment includes a barcode scanner, a fiscal recorder, a data collection terminal, printers to print receipts and labels, video surveillance, and electronic displays.
The automated system maintains communication with the digital PBX, displaying the entire available volume of information about the client when a call comes from the number marked in the base. Integration of the system with the corporate website speeds up the updating of information in personal accounts, where the client can clarify the appointment, test results, and examinations. The nomenclature is a range of products to be sold or used by optics for their own needs and commodity items are divided into categories. Each commodity item in the nomenclature has its trade characteristics, including barcode and article number, brand, and supplier. The classification of products carried out according to generally accepted categories, their catalogue is in the program of optics, facilitates the search for the desired name, and accelerates the formation of invoices. Invoices are generated automatically when specifying the identification parameter of the product, its quantity, and the basis of transfer, and are saved in its own database. To systematize invoices, each is assigned a status that has its colour to visually differentiate the types of invoices in the transfer of inventory items.
Medical records also make up their database and have their own designation - status and colour, which in this case record the current state of patient control. The status of the medical card indicates the client's debt, making an appointment with a specialist, work on the order, so the colour allows you to visually monitor the current state of the work process. Automation of the optics uses several types of electronic communication to inform the client and to maintain regular communications - SMS, Viber, e-mail, and voice announcement. To attract patients, the organization of mailings is provided, a set of text templates has been prepared in the automation system of the optics.
