The result of any production is finished goods, as a component of inventories that will become the object of sale, while the quality and technical documentation must comply with all standards. An important task is to organize comprehensive control over information regarding the availability and further movement of finished goods, places of their storage, and full-fledged control and goods record cards. Such a record should be carried out according to price and numerical indicators. The numerical fixation of finished goods is carried out in the accepted units of measurement, depending on the characteristics of a particular type.

Record of finished goods is an accounting of the movement of finished products in warehouses, their release, shipment, and sale where finished goods are products that meet approved standards or specifications and are accepted by the technical control department. The tasks of record of finished products are control over the fulfillment of the contractual obligations of the enterprise to the consumers of goods, over the timeliness of settlements with buyers, compliance with the norms of stocks of finished goods, and the estimate of sales costs.

Who is the developer?

In the balance sheet, the balances of finished goods are accounted for actual cost. The finished products arriving at the warehouse are drawn up with delivery notes. In this case, the account of finished goods is debited and the record of the main production is credited (within a month at discount prices, and upon completion they are adjusted to the actual cost price). On the basis of contracts, documents for shipment are drawn up (invoices and others). The moment of implementation is considered to be the transfer of ownership of the finished product from the seller to the buyer. Before the transfer of ownership, the shipped goods are charged to the goods shipped. When the payment is received, the current credit is debited and the counterparty's record credited. The sales record takes into consideration the cost of goods sold, non-production costs. Value-added tax is also taken into account here. The debit turnover of the sales record reflects the total cost of goods sold and turnover tax, and the credit turnover reflects the selling price of the same goods. The difference between these turnovers gives a financial result (profit or loss), which at the end of the month is written off to the profit and loss account.

Among other things, a record is divided into groups of goods: main production, consumer goods, or created from secondary raw materials. The accounting department, in turn, enters the data from these cards into a certain register. The cost and amount line is under the responsibility of the accounting staff. In theory, this sounds simpler than it is implemented in practice since a unified scheme of interaction between employees, accuracy, and responsibility is required, which does not always turn out to be fully created at the enterprise. Also, one should not exclude the presence of mechanical errors due to the human factor, which, as a result, distorts the real picture of cases on the cards of finished goods.
