Accounting and control of building materials is a problem area. This is due to a number of aspects: a low level of discipline, a lack of clear planning in carrying out work, and, accordingly, the lack of a clear supply of resources, constant rushwork that accompanies the purchase of resources. A problem area is both warehouse and accounting programs, which are often tried to be used for accounting of building materials. Meanwhile, the functionality of these programs is designed not for construction companies, but for trade enterprises. These programs have a lot of advantages, but, nevertheless, they do not allow to completely eliminate a number of negative aspects. There are many problems. These are inappropriate costs, and purchases at inadequate prices, and the purchase of unnecessary materials, and emergency situations. This leads to overstocking of warehouses, and freezing of funds, and, conversely, downtime due to a delay in delivery. For construction companies, the lack of orderly accounting of materials is especially dangerous, because the proportion of material costs is high, and mistakes are ultimately costly.

Nevertheless, it is necessary to take measures to minimize unplanned purchases, costs, misuse of resources. Only at first glance can one get the impression that the accounting of materials is the same everywhere. In construction, it is associated with a host of aspects that are not at all discussed in trade. In addition to everything, one of the misconceptions is the opinion that there is no need to fully automate business processes at a building company. Many companies believe that it is sufficient to take only certain areas, such as operational cash management, inventory management and management of repairs and equipment, without considering contract accounting, planning and other important aspects.

The control of building materials is of particular importance to organizations of the corresponding activity profile. It is materials and structures, their quality, that affect the volume of costs, as well as the operational characteristics and service life of the facility under development. In this regard, the organization of incoming control of building materials is one of the most urgent and priority tasks. Lack of attention to the quality of components and structures entails, firstly, a general rise in the cost of building, secondly, an increase in operating costs, and thirdly, a decrease in the level of comfort when living or otherwise using the building. And, as an extreme case, to various accidents, partial or complete collapse, and other problems.

During the control of building materials, they check the compliance of the quality indicators of materials, products and equipment intended for the development of the facility with the requirements of standards, technical conditions or technical certificates for them specified in the project documentation, as well as in the work contract. Directly at the warehouse, the presence and content of the accompanying documents of the supplier (manufacturer), confirming the quality of the specified building materials, products and equipment, are checked. These can be technical data sheets, certificates and other documents.

Therefore, the act of incoming control of building materials is an indispensable attribute of any building site (in fact, any, even the smallest, work process should begin with it). Incoming quality control means the organization of checking the compliance of the key characteristics of the received goods and structures with the regulatory requirements established by the technical specifications of the project, state and internal standards, the terms of the contract for the supply of products, building codes and regulations, etc. Why is the control of building materials and structures carried out? The main goal is to prevent, as far as possible, the occurrence of various defects in objects under construction, violations of the normal work process (leading to a delay in deadlines and, accordingly, to a general increase in the cost of work).

The USU Software offers unique program that ensures the maximum efficiency of all types of incoming construction control at building sites (acceptance, operational and inspection) and the organization of accounting at the appropriate level. This computer program can be equally successfully applied both at construction sites and at enterprises engaged in the production of appropriate materials, structures and special equipment. All standards, norms and rules applied in the organization can be entered into the program, and the computer will automatically generate messages if the checked goods and designs have any deviations.

Control of building materials

Warehouse equipment integrated into the system (data collection terminals, barcode scanners) ensure fast processing of documents accompanying each consignment of goods, as well as error-free entry of qualitative and quantitative data. Acts of incoming inspection of building materials are generated automatically, recording all deviations and shortcomings noted during the verification process. Distributed databases store complete and comprehensive information about all types of incoming goods (prices, terms of delivery, manufacturers, suppliers, key characteristics, etc.), manufacturers, resellers, carriers, etc. Any employee with the right of access can form a sample and conduct an operational analysis in order to urgently find the missing product, a reliable partner.
